An explosive running back and return man, Nyvall earned All-Gulf States Conference honors in 1967 and 1968 … chosen team MVP in 1967 after he finished eighth in the nation in punt returns … during his Demon career he set school records for most rushes per game (31), punt return yards (129), kickoff return yardage (136), touchdowns in a game (3), kicks returned in one season (18), and kickoff return yards in a season (392) … his 108 career points ranked him among all-time school leaders at the end of his college days … played professional football with the New Orleans Saints in 1970 … included on the Top 100 Demons of the Century roster selected in 2007 to kick off the centennial season of NSU football.
