A two-time All-America safety (1965, 1966), Dodd set school and state records with 31 career interceptions … he led the team in kickoff and punt returns from 1964-66 … played halfback and split end on offense … the first Demon to play in the Senior Bowl after being the top star on the unbeaten 1966 team … played seven NFL seasons, most with the fledging New Orleans Saints as a receiver after being drafted by the Chicago Bears as a safety … NFL totals were 111 catches for 1,803 yards … his No. 41 is one of only five retired football jerseys at NSU … on Top 100 Demons of the Century roster chosen for 2007 football centennial celebration.
