An Indiana native, Shaw became a Demon great for Coach Red Thomas … in 78 games he scored 1,184 points (15.2 average) and snatched 888 rebounds (11.4) … his career rebounding total and average still rank highly in school history, and he ended his career as the Demons’ all-time scoring leader as well … after receiving honorable mention All-Gulf State Conference honors in 1951-1952, he was named first team All-GSC in the next two seasons, winning a conference championship in his senior year with a 23-9 record … also a two-year letterman in baseball … on Top 100 Demons of the Century roster chosen for 2012-13 basketball centennial celebration.
