Hudson was NSU’s first major basketball All-American in 1989-90 (USBWA) … won the Division I rebounding title (15.2 per game) and came in second in scoring nationally (28.4 per game) … “The Hud” is the only non 6-footer to win the NCAA rebounding crown … her 829 points and 438 rebounds as a senior top NSU’s single-season charts … scored a program-record 48 points against McNeese (had two games of at least 40 points), missing only 3 of 23 shots, none closer than 5 feet … shot .608 from the field in her career … her No. 45 jersey is one of four women’s basketball numbers retired … led NSU to an NCAA Tournament berth as an at-large in 1988-89, finished 24-7 … member of the Southland Conference’s 1980’s All-Decade Team … transferred from Kilgore Junior College, where she was the MVP of the national champions in 1987 … product of Shady Grove High in Bienville Parish, but a Quitman native.
