Darbonne, a native of Fairview, was an outstanding shooting guard whose 1,949 career points in 119 games from 1977-81 ranks fourth all-time in school history … averaged 16.4 points per game in her career, helped by a career 73.1 percent free throw rate … also ranks third all-time in career steals (310), averaging 2.6 per game … as a sophomore, averaged 21.1 points, fifth-best in school history, in the 1978-79 season, one of three years she led the Lady Demons in scoring … as a senior, led the team to a 22-8 finish, the first of eight 20-win seasons in the program's 21-year history … as a sophomore, she lit up national power Louisiana Tech for 38 points.
