Already in the Graduate N Club Hall of Fame as an athlete (inducted in 1993), Boozman is being honored for her incredible high school basketball coaching career, mostly at Natchitoches Central High School. When she retired in May, she ranked among the state’s all-time winningest girls high school coaches with an 865-370 (.700) record after a 36-year career, the last 26 at Natchitoches Central.
Boozman’s accomplishments include three state titles (Class C in 1982 and 1983, Campti HS; Class 5A, 2010 at NCHS) and two more state finals appearances, including her last season.  Her teams had six Top 28 appearances and reached the state quarterfinals 13 times. The  Alexandria Town Talk’s Cenla Sportswoman of the Year in 2009, she was a standout basketball player from 1973-76 and became part of state history in April 1975 as NSU became the first university in Louisiana to award full athletic scholarships to 10 women, including the Winnsboro native.
