A high major league draft pick (13th in the second round) of the St. Louis Cardinals in 1974, Hrapmann was a dynamic shortstop who set school records for career games (151), at-bats (495), runs scored (109), hits (140), and had 194 total bases while stealing 22 bases … set a single-season mark in 1973 with 32 runs … hit .373 as a senior, .324 as a freshman … leadoff hitter with power and speed … helped Coach Herbie Smith’s 1974 Demons reach the NAIA Regionals after claiming the District 30 championship with a sweep of Southern … NSU went 45-33 in his last two seasons … New Orleans native who was all-state in football (quarterback on a state championship team) and baseball … made Texas League All-Star Game in 1975.
