A four-sport athlete from Robeline, Stoker stood out as a shortstop in baseball, and reached the minor leagues after his Louisiana Normal days … a halfback, he helped the 1930 football team win the “Little Four” championship (topping Louisiana Tech, Louisiana College, and Southwestern/now UL Lafayette) and winning the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association division championship with a 7-2 record … in track and field, he was a high jumper and broad jumper … roomed with fellow N-Club Hall of Famer Bill Dodd … was enshrined in the Louisiana High School Sports Hall of Fame for his contributions as a principal and president of the state high school athletic association (LHSAA) … served as president of the Northwestern Alumni Association for nine years.
