Honors: SLC Defensive Player of the Week for 9/5/05. A dynamic talent ranked as the nation's No. 1 defensive tackle in Division I-AA by The Sports Network, Collins had offseason foot surgery and did not take part in spring practice, but his work habits have been outstanding since then. He has added weight and retained his speed and agility. Already an All-American after his junior year, Collins is eager to take on the top-flight competition facing the Demons. He will earn his fourth letter and start for the third year after transferring following his tre freshman season at LSU.

2005: Ranked fourth on the team with 64 tackles...Team-best while ranking second in the SLC with 14 tackles for a loss to go along with one sack...Also forced a fumble, had two pass breakups and six quarterback hits...Had a season-high nine hits with three TFLs and a sack at Louisiana-Monroe, earning the league's first SLC Defensive Player of the Week honors of the season...Also had nine tackles with three tackles for a loss at Sam Houston State...Eight hits against Nicholls...Seven hits with two TFLs versus North Dakota State and seven hits with two tackles for a loss at McNeese State.

2004: Combined with Ed Queen for a clinching sack vs. Jackson state as the Tigers were at the Demons' 9, trailing 28-20 in the waning seconds of the game...Started at defensive tackle and was 8th on team in tackles with 46...Made 9 tackles for a loss (28 yards) and was second on the team with 3.5 sacks (22 yards)...Also broke up two passes and recovered a fumble...6 hits, 2 tackles for loss (-12), 1 pass broken up, and a sack (-11) in win over Jackson State...Had 1 tackle for loss (-2) and a fumble recovery in trouncing of McNeese...3 hits, 1 tackle for loss (-1) vs. North Dakota State...5 hits, 1 tackle for loss (-5), with a sack (-5) in season finale vs. Stephen F. Austin...4 hits and 0.5 tackles for loss in play-off game against Montana.

2003: Ranked 12th on team with 42 tackles despite getting little playing time early on in the season except for pass rushing situations...Made 5.5 tackles for loss (21 yards) and 2 sacks (9 yards) along with recovering a fumble...3 hits, 2 QB hurries at Tulane in his second game...4 hits, 2 tackles for loss (6 yards) in rout of Delaware State...3 hits, 2 QB hurries in win over La.-Monroe... 6 hits vs. Oklahoma Panhandle...5 hits, 1 tackle for loss, half a sack vs. Texas State in 49-19 win...Recovered a fumble vs. Nicholls State...5 hits, 1 sack at McNeese State...4 hits vs. Stephen F. Austin.

Before NSU: Redshirted as a true freshman at LSU before transferring to Northwestern State.

High School: Listed on the New Orleans Times-Picayune's Blue Chip 15 List and the Baton Rouge Advocate's Second Dozen prep recruiting list for Louisiana as a senior...Rated a 3 star prospect and the #38 defensive tackle in the nation by Rivals.com...First-team Class 4-A All-State defensive end at Alcee Frontier HS with 62 tackles and 11 sacks as a senior...He made 48 tackles and 8 sacks as a junior, 59 tackles and 4 sacks as a sophomore...A three-year all-district pick for coach Robert Welch.
