After extensive action last year, Blessing has gone through offseason ankle surgery. He opens fall camp as a contender to start at left tackle and is also Demetrius Bell's backup at right tackle.

2006: Starter in all 11 games with an average grade out at 72.4%... top grader with 83% against McNeese State... graded out at 89% in 75 snaps at Kansas... 88% grade in 98 snaps with 7 KO blocks against Sam Houston State.
2005: Played in eight games grading out at 75 percent or better in five of those games... had a season-best 91 percentage against Sam Houston State.
2004: Redshirted.
Blessing in High School: First-team All-State Academic pick and a two-year football letterman at Irving MacArthur HS ... team went 7-4 in each of his two seasons ... also a two-year letterman in baseball, one year in basketball, one year in track ... helped the baseball team reach the state playoffs ... first-team all-academic with a 4.3 grade point average on a 5.0 scale.
Blessing's Personal: 21 years old, born 9/20/85... son of David and Diana Blessing ... father is a general manager, mother is the children's coordinator at Irving Bible School ... one sister, Danae (16) ... National Honor Society member ... majoring in pre-med and wants to attend medical school or become a coach... wants to have a "large exotic game ranch."
