A talented transfer from Texas Tech, Johnson could play cornerback or safety and has boundless potential in either slot. He started at cornerback two years ago for the Red Raiders and had two interceptions and 43 tackles as a true freshman, and was moved to strong safety in the spring before beginning to consider a transfer. He was a can't miss player in the secondary this spring for the Demons. One of his interceptions in 2004 came against Kansas, the Demons' 2006 opening opponent.

Prior to NSU: Played two seasons at Texas Tech totaling 70 tackles with three interceptions...He earned a spot on the Big 12 All-Freshman team in 2003.
