Northwestern State University of Louisana

After playing tailback last season, and posting a 131-yard rushing game in a win over Southeastern, Holmes will be trying to stop the run this year at linebacker. It's a more natural position for this multi-talented player who excelled at this spot at Oakdale High, and the Demons depth at tailback made the move possible.

2005: Ranked fourth on the team in rushing with 209 yards on 57 carries in nine games played...Scored three touchdowns with a long run of 53 yards...Had a career best 131 yards rushing on 18 carries with a TD against Southeastern Louisiana...Earned SLC Player of the week honors for that game...Also had three catches for seven yards for the season...Rushed for 35 yards on five carries with a touchdown against North Dakota State.

Before NSU: Redshirted freshman year at McNeese State.

High School: 2A All-State Most Valuable Player...Led team to a 36-11 record and four second round playoff appearances in his four seasons...Four-year letterman in basketball.

Personal: 22 years old, born 2/4/84...Son of Eddies Holmes and Willie Ballard...Son Anthony, Jr. will be three on Nov. 7.
