A physical, rugged player with a healthy mean streak, Cheramie won the starting fullback job in spring practice after making steady progress during his redshirt freshman season. He gives the Demons an all-around player at fullback with his ability to run, receive and block.
Honors: NSU Athletic Honor Roll, Silver 3.000-3.499, Fall 2005.
2006: Saw action in six games rushing for two yards on one carry while catching one pass for 23 yards... got all of his yardage against Arkansas-Monticello.
2005: Played in six games gaining 19 yards on three carries with a long run of 12 yards...had 2 rushes for 16 yards against Southeastern Louisiana.
2004: Redshirted as Demons had good depth with seniors Issa Banna and Demoine Clark... spent time working as scout team fullback adn didn't get much practice time with top offensive units.
Cheramie in High School: Honorable Mention 5A All-State at TE... Honorable Mention Academic All-State... two-time All-Bayou Region selection... two time first-team All-district... voted Best Offensive Lineman his junior season... team was 8-0 and Parish champs freshman year... earned three letters in both basketball and track.
Cheramie's Personal: 21 years old, born 11/13/85... son of Jill and the late Jody Cheramie... mother is a teacher... has one brother, Korte (19).
