A ringleader on the Purple Swarm defense for the past two seasons, Dampier is primed for his senior season. The team's leading tackler last year, Dampier is a pivotal figure for the 2008 Demons.

2007-08 Honors:  2007 All-SLC Honorable Mention... SLC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll, Fall 2007... NSU Athletic Honor Roll, Silver (3.0-3.49), Spring 2008.

2007:  Team leader with 91 tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss... tied for second on the squad with two sacks... also had two pass breakups, four quarterback hurries, and forced a fumble... starter in all 11 games... had three games where he recorded 10 or more tackles... career-high 15 stops with two TFLs against Central Arkansas... 10 tackles at Northeastern and against Texas State (nine solos)... also had three TFLs in that game.

2006:  Ranked third on the team with 51 tackles... had 1/2 sack, a pass break up, fumble recovery and forced a fumble... season-high seven stops at Ole Miss... had six tackles each against Delaware State, Nicholls State, Texas State and McNeese State... recorded a half a sack and forced a fumble against Nicholls State.

2005:  Played in all 10 games recording 12 tackles... had two tackles against Southeastern Louisiana, Texas State and Stephen F. Austin.

2004:  Redshirted.

Dampier in High School:  Member of News Star Louisiana Top 13... second-team 5A All-State... honorable mention 5A All-State... twice named to All-Northeast Louisiana team... twice named first-team All-district... Team defensive MVP... helped team to a 37-7 record and two State Championship game appearances in his three seasons for Don Shows... named to Who’s Who among American Student Athletes 2003... three-year letterman in football.

Dampier’s Personal:  23 years old, born 3/8/85... son of Donnie and Judy Dampier... father is a school principal and mother is an elementary school supervisor... mother was a standout basketball player for the Lady Demons...has a sister, Katie (27), who is an attorney for the Louisiana Gaming Division... majoring in health and human performance and plans to become a coach and a principal... full name is Robert Mack Dampier.
