Griffin is an upper-echelon Southland Conference tailback who could shine in the new Purple Strike scheme. He is a very good pass blocker with explosive running ability. He has good hands and figures to get lots of touches in his senior season.
2008: Second on the team in rushing with 472 yards on 110 carries… averaged 39.3 yards rushing per game and 4.3 yards per carry… scored four touchdowns… caught 17 passes for 127 yards… best rushing game was a 78 yard output on 15 carries with a score against Southeastern Oklahoma… rushed for 68 yards on 19 carries at Baylor and 67 yards on 12 carries at Central Arkansas… had 110 all-purpose yards at UCA with his 67 yards rushing and 43 yards receiving… played in all 12 games.

Griffin in High School: Senior season, earned first team all-state, all-parish and all-district honors… district, parish and state MVP… first team All-Pelican Prep and All-Pelican Prep MVP… led his team to a 12-2 record, district championship and quarterfinal round of the state playoffs… junior season, all-state, all-parish and all-district running back… parish and district MVP… team finished 10-2, won district championship and advanced to the quarterfinals of the state playoffs… sophomore season, first team all-district running back and first team all-district and all-parish as a defensive back… team finished 10-2 and made it to the second round of the state playoffs… freshman season, second team all-district and all-parish as a running back… team finished 13-3, won district title and was the Class 3A state runners-up… also lettered in baseball, basketball and track.
Griffin's Personal: Born Sept. 20, 1986… son of William and Ruby Griffin… one brother, Michael, and a sister, Travis… Michael played free safety at Nicholls State… majoring in history with a minor in business… expected to graduate in May.
