Duffy, who transferred as a walk-on from Louisiana-Lafayette last summer at the encouragement of QB John Hundley, is the Demons' most complete receiver. His work ethic is outstanding. He could thrive in the Purple Strike offense.
2008-09 Honors: NSU athletic honor roll, fall and spring (3.00-3.49)... SLC Commissioner’s Fall Academic Honor Roll.
2008 Season: Ranked third on the team with 19 catches and second with 287 yards receiving… averaged 15.1 yards per catch and 23.9 yards receiving per game… scored two touchdowns…also rushed the ball two times for a gain of 12 yards… season-high of four catches for 62 yards against Nicholls State… had touchdown catches against Southeastern Oklahoma and at Southeastern Louisiana… longest reception was 33 yards against Nicholls… caught at least one pass in eight straight games from Sept. 6 to Nov. 1 and had one reception in nine of 12 games.
Prior to NSU: Lettered one season in three years at Louisiana-Lafayette… a teammate of current Demon quarterback John Hundley… as a redshirt freshman, played in all 12 games and made eight catches for 70 yards.
Duffy in High School: As a senior, first team all-district, first team All-Lafayette Parish, first-team all-academic… 1,200 yards passing with 15 touchdown tosses… 850 yards rushing with eight tds and 251 yards receiving and two tds… led his Northside HS team to a 13-2 record and the state championship game his senior season… played all four seasons with current Demon teammate Quinten Goodie… also lettered in basketball and baseball.
Duffy's Personal: Born Jan. 28, 1987… son of Darrell and Nora Duffy… one brother, Damian… majoring in sports management and is scheduled to graduate in December… wants to pursue a career in the sports industry… nickname is “Duff.”
