A summer signee in 2007, Chitman played as a true freshman and will compete for the starting cornerback slot opposite Kasey Brown.

2007:  Played in three games, picking off one pass (at Ole Miss) and breaking up one pass... returned the interception two yards.  

Chitman in High School: All-District honors as a junior and senior for Dennis Dunn and Ronnie Alexander at Evangel Academy... picked off 13 passes in his career, including six as a junior... recorded 170 career tackles, 65 his junior year and 40 as a senior... football team won state championship all four seasons and ranked fourth in the nation his sophomore year... also ran the 400 and 1600 meter relay, helping his team to the state meet as a junior.

Chitman’s Personal:  20 years old, born 5/24/88... son of Danny Chitman and Dorothy Edwards... two brothers, Marcus and Derrick Edwards and two sisters, Kim Edwards and Trisha Johnson... majoring in criminal justice and plans to become an FBI agent.
