Loche finally gets a starting job after two years of playing behind stalwart Mack Dampier. A very athletic player with great effort who makes plays from sideline to sideline, Loche is an outstanding leader. He could be as valuable a defender as there will be on the Purple Swarm defense in 2009.
2008-09 Honors: NSU athletic honor roll, fall (3.0-3.49) and spring (3.00-3.49)... SLC Commissioner’s Fall Academic Honor Roll.
2008: Finished the season with 38 tackles, 23 of those solos, in playing all 12 games… had one sack, two tackles for a loss and a quarterback hurry… set a career-best with seven stops against Stephen F. Austin in the season finale… had six tackles the week before against McNeese State… recorded his only sack of the season against Southeastern Oklahoma.
2007: Racked up 24 tackles with 14 solos in 11 games played... had one tackle for a loss, a quarterback hurry, and forced a fumble... had a career-high five tackles against his former team, Ole Miss.
2006: Played in 10 games collecting 15 tackles… had a season-high four stops at Kansas (Sept. 2) in the season opener… had three tackles, all solos, at Southeastern Louisiana (Oct. 14).
Prior to NSU: Signed by Ole Miss where he redshirted his only season.
Loche in High School: Three-time all-state and all-district linebacker for Bastrop High where he helped his teams to a combined record of 44-6 record in his four seasons… sophomore and junior seasons, teams finished with identical 12-1 records with their only loss coming in the state quarterfinal round… also lettered in powerlifting.
Loche's Personal: Born Mar. 4, 1987… son of Rogers Loche, Jr. and Donna Thaxton… two brothers, Broderick Loche and Chad Thaxton… uncles James and Earl Thaxton played football at Louisiana Tech… James played two seasons with the Detroit Lions while Earl played three years in the Canadian Football League… full name is Rogers Williams Loche III… majoring in psychology with an emphasis on addiction studies… nickname is “Rog.”
