Kitchen has plenty of experience through his first two seasons as a part time stater, and could parlay that experience and maturity into a starting job at cornerback in a crowded secondary picture. He has also played some safety during his first two seasons.

2005: Finished the year ranking 14th on the team with 25 tackles...Tied with Russ Washington as the team leader with two pass interceptions and tied for third on the team with four passes broken up...Had six hits each against Louisiana-Monroe and Nicholls State, where he also had an interception...had five tackles against North Dakota State...Four hits and an interception at Texas State.

2004: Kitchen ranked 14th on the team with 32 tackles in his redshirt freshman season, and was third on the team with nine pass breakups...two hits, one pass breakup in his college debut, a 14-7 loss at Louisiana-Lafayette...Three hits in win at Jackson State...Three hits, a pass breakup in 44-7 rout of Texas State...Season-best five hits and a pass breakup as the Demons beat Sam Houston State 45-27, becoming the only team to hold All-American QB Dustin Long without a TD pass and limiting him to a season-low 220 yards passing...Season-best six hits, four pass breakups in 37-16 title-clinching win at Stephen F. Austin.

2003: Redshirted

High School: Included on the 2002 Preseason Dave Campbell Texas Super team as third-team pick...A three-year starter at receiver and defensive back...As a senior, he had 71 1/2 tackles, 3 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 tackle behind the line, 4 pass breakups and 1 blocked kick for the District 24-5A program.
