2019 Season: Appeared in eight games, starting three in the defensive backfield … broke up a pass at Nicholls on Oct. 12 … had two tackles in three straight games (vs. Southeastern Louisiana, at Nicholls, at Incarnate Word) … tied a career high with five tackles in back-to-back games at No. 4 LSU (Sept. 14) and vs. Midwestern State (Sept. 7).
2018 Season: Appeared in 10 games, starting six ... made 26 tackles, including 20 solo ... five tackles each against Lamar and Abilene Christian … had an interception in the Homecoming win over Houston Baptist, which helped set up eventual game-winning score ... forced two fumbles ... had two tackles for loss against Central Arkansas.
2017 Season: Appeared in eight games as a safety … made 10 tackles (nine solo) … career-high three tackles against UCA and SHSU (one tackle for loss) … first career tackle came against Southeastern (one solo and one assisted) … added two tackles against HBU … three pass breakups, one each against GSU, SHSU and HBU.
2016 Season: Redshirted.
High School: Three-year letterman for coach Mike Allison’s Wolverines … intercepted 11 passes in his career, including a career-best four as a sophomore … graduated with a 3.3 grade point average.
Personal: Born Dec. 26, 1997 … son of Shamera Sonnier … has two older sisters, Desiree and Sharee and a younger brother Mylo … majoring in psychology with a 3.0 GPA … plans to become a football coach after graduation.
