2019 Season: Appeared in 10 games in his lone season at Northwestern State, starting three at cornerback and safety ... had two tackles against Lamar (Nov. 9), at Incarnate Word (Oct. 26) and vs. Midwestern State (Sept. 7) ... added pass breakups against Lamar, Southeastern Louisiana (Sept. 28), Midwestern State and at UT Martin ... made his Demons' debut at UT Martin on Aug. 29, notching a career-high three tackles and breaking up one pass. 

Prior to NSU: Lettered two seasons at BYU after playing one year at Riverside City College …  appeared in 19 games at BYU, including all 13 in the 2018 season … collected four total tackles as a Cougar and intercepted a pass against UMass in the 2016 season … played in eight games at Riverside City College, picking up 19 tackles, five pass breakups, three interceptions and one fumble recovery … all three of his interceptions came in the same game … member of the Dean’s List.

High School: Three-year letterman at Redlands East Valley … broke the Southern California single-season record for interceptions as a senior, picking off 13 passes … added 58 tackles, seven pass breakups and two fumble recoveries and was named the All-Area Defensive Player of the Year and first-team Division II … helped East Valley to a 15-1 record and the Division II state title … had 22 tackles, five pass breakups, two interceptions and one fumble recovery as a junior … two-time honor roll student. 

Personal: Born Aug. 28, 1996 … son of Naomi Rodriguez-Cornelius and Robert Armstrong … has two brothers, Josh Armstrong and Jonathan Peace, and one sister, Maya Armstrong … majoring in health and exercise science … plans to become a football coach and his life’s ambition is to play professional football.
