Austin ... despite only playing four games, he tied for third on the team in pass break-ups with three, including two against Stephen F. Austin ... received a redshirt … registered a sack against McNeese ... had two tackles for loss ... forced the late fumble against Abilene to help set them up with a chance to tie the game up late.
2017 Season: Appeared in nine of 11 games at cornerback with three starts … totaled 17 tackles and two pass breakups … broke into the starting lineup late in the season to start three of the last four games … season-high five tackles (four solo) in first start vs. HBU … added four tackles each against McNeese and SFA … pass breakups came against HBU and ACU.
Prior to NSU: Two-year letterman at Arkansas Baptist where he accumulated more than 100 tackles, forced four fumbles, intercepted three passes, recovered two fumbles and scored one touchdown.
High School: Played for head coach Marcus Scott at West Jefferson … ran a 4.85 40-yard dash and recorded a 32 inch vertical jump in high school … recorded 35 tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery his senior season.
