2010: Started eight times, with the Demons opening in a nickel or dime package the other three games … had 8 tackles three times, vs. McNeese, at Southeastern La., at Stephen F. Austin … taking out a 1-tackle outing against Nicholls, he averaged 6 tackles in the other seven conference games … notched a 12-yard sack in win at Texas State … along with 8 tackles, he recovered a fumble and returned it 8 yards and had 2 QB hurries vs. McNeese … totaled 57 tackles, 31 solos.
2009: Recorded six tackles while playing in eight games... had 1.5 tackles for a loss and forced a fumble... had a season best three stops and a half a tackle for a loss at Grambling.
2008: Saw action in 10 games and recorded two tackles.

Simmons in High School: Two year high school letterman, playing as a junior at Notre Dame High and as a senior at O. Perry Walker High, bouncing around due to the effects of Hurricane Katrina on the city of New Orleans...saw time as a running back and wide receiver at Notre Dame for coach Louis Cook...played strong safety, linebacker and defensive end at O. Perry Walker for coach Derek Lamothe...as a junior, helped Notre Dame go 13-2 and advance to the state 3A championship game...as a senior, posted 78 tackles, seven sacks and three forced fumbles while helping the Chargers advance to the state playoffs...also lettered in 2006 as a member of the track and field team at Edna Karr High...off the field, was a member of the honor roll.
