2011: Ended 2011 with a streak of 12 consecutive made field goals, a school record … 14-for-16 in field goals with a long of 45… perfect four-for-four on kicks between 40-49 yards, including a 42-yarder at LSU that gave the Demons their first points in 11 meetings with the Tigers … three-for-three on attempts between 30-39 yards… one punt for 35 yards and a touchback… 51 kickoffs with an average boot of 61.3 yards and a pair of touchbacks … his distance, accuracy and height on kickoffs helped Demons rank second in the Southland in kickoff coverage (19.9 yards per return) … only two unsuccessful PAT kicks were blocked, one by the NCAA’s career blocks leader at SMU … only two FG misses were at SMU, one blocked … led Demons in scoring for the third consecutive season (66 points), narrowly missing cracking the school single-season top 10 for points.
2010: Topped NSU in scoring for the second straight season after he scored 38 points on 5 of 9 field goals and 23 of 24 extra points... sailed the longest field goal of his career at Texas State after booting through a 50-yarder... hit a 44-yarder against Tarleton State... was a perfect 3-for-3 from 20-29 yards out... his only missed PAT came against Texas State... also handled kickoffs for the Demons and averaged 59 yards per kick... had six touchbacks and only once did he kick the ball out of bounds.
2009: Led the Demons in scoring with 38 points on 7 of 16 field goals and 17 of 20 extra points... was 3 for 4 from 20-29 yards, 3 for 7 from 30-yards, and 1 for 5 from 40-49 yards... longest was a 40 yarder he connected on at Baylor where he made both of his attempts... also handled kickoffs where he averaged just under 60 yards a kick and had one touchback.
High School: First team All-State, All-District 1-5A and All-City as a senior... Academic All-State senior year... connected on 9 of 13 field goals with a long of 56 yards - a school and city record... broke the school record with seven PATs in a game... kicked three field goals each in two games, a school record... also set a school record for most FGs in a season... 80 percent of his kickoffs were touchbacks... KTBS Player of the Week... KSLA Player of the Week... junior season, All-State, first team All-District 1-5A... hit 9 of 15 of his field goals with a long of 47 yards... lettered three years in football for the Yellow Jackets and is the varsity soccer team's goalie... team went 10-2 as a junior and 9-3 as a senior, both losing in the regional round of the state playoffs... offered by Louisiana-Monroe and Army.
Personal: Born Aug. 29, 1991... son of John and Debbie Shaughnessy... one sister, Jessica... father is a railroad engineer and mother a teacher who was named the 2007-08 Louisiana Math Teacher of the Year... majoring in biology and plans on going to medical school to become an Opthamologist.
