2017 SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE COMMISSIONER’S FALL HONOR ROLL

Spring 2018: Had three tackles and one pass breakup in 2018 Delaney Bowl.

2017 Season: Redshirted.

High School: Three-sport athlete at Haynesville High School … played four seasons of football for his father, David Franklin … helped lead the Golden Tornado to four consecutive state championship games, winning the state title as a freshman and sophomore … Haynesville went 47-5 in his four seasons … first-team all-state quarterback as a senior … two-time, first-team all-district quarterback and punter … district offensive MVP as a senior … three-year baseball letterman was a first-team all-district outfielder … lettered in track and was part of the 2017 state championship team … National Honor Society member graduated with a 3.5 grade point average. 

Personal: Born April 7, 1999 … son of Jennifer and David Franklin … father is the head football coach at Haynesville, leading the Golden Tornado to five straight state title games … grandson of Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame coach Alton “Red” Franklin, the architect of Haynesville’s football dynasty … one sister, Erin (16), and one brother, Toby (11) … majoring in business … plans to become a physical education teacher and coach … life’s ambition is “to be successful in life and to be happy.”
