2017 Southland Conference Commissioner’s Fall Honor Roll

2017 Season: Appeared in all 11 games as a tight end/special teams player … caught two passes for nine yards and a touchdown … score came on a 1-yard catch against McNeese … caught an 8-yard pass against La. Tech.

Prior to NSU: Second-team Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges All-State as a sophomore, averaging 15.6 yards per catch with a pair of touchdowns … caught 13 passes for 200 yards as a sophomore and added one kick return for 4 yards … caught two passes for 61 yards as a freshman.

High School: Three-sport letterman at Richton High School … lettered four years in football for coach Chris Fortenberry … all-district and second-team all-state selection as a senior after catching 33 passes for 330 yards and seven touchdowns … recorded 50 tackles as a junior … four-year basketball letterman for coach Hugh Thoms … averaged double-doubles as a senior (16 points, 10 rebounds) and as a junior (13 points, 10 rebounds) … was among the top 25 rebounders in Mississippi as a senior … also lettered four years in track and field. 

Personal: Born Oct. 21, 1996 … son of April Meggs McDougle … one brother, Jerrelle Boose (24), and one sister, Marshauna Meggs (17) … undecided on his major … plans to become a coach … life’s ambition is to “be a great father and follow God’s plan.”
