2017 Season: Started the final six games of the season at quarterback as team went 3-3 … attempted a pass in two other games … NSU’s leading passer with 1,240 yards … completed 57 percent of passes (109-of-190) … threw nine touchdowns to six interceptions … team-high 121.51 efficiency among regular passers … best outing came against McNeese in which he threw for a career-high and school-record 381 yards on 26-of-41 passing with three touchdowns in a loss … tossed three touchdowns in a 38-21 win against SFA in which he went 9-of-14 for 123 yards … two other 200-plus yard games against HBU (244 yards) and SHSU (207, two touchdowns) … first action came in opener at La. Tech, where he threw two interceptions as part of 7-of-17 effort … effective in relief vs. SLU, completing 7-of-11 for 40 yards and a touchdown … completed season-long passes of 43 yards against UCA and McNeese … threw for 149 yards at UCA on 11-of-25 passing with an interception.

2017 Spring: Named Offensive MVP in the 28th Annual Joe Delaney Bowl spring game after a sensational 18-for-22 outing, throwing for 154 yards and two TDs … his 6-yard connection with Cameron Lazare on a fade route with 12 seconds remaining gave the White team a 17-14 win … Holgorsen led scoring drives to end each half, an eight-play, 70-yard march capped by a 12-yard score to LSU transfer Jazz Ferguson, and the game-winning 36-yard drive in 1:58 … went 7-for-9 for 131 yards and a TD in the first scrimmage March 18 … just 2-for-5 for 17 yards in the second scrimmage March 23.

Before NSU: Former Houston Chronicle Top 100 recruit who spent one season at Northwest Mississippi Community College after two years at Memphis, backing up current Denver Broncos quarterback Paxton Lynch as a redshirt freshman in 2015  … in 2016, led Northwest Mississippi to a 9-3 record and a berth in the Heart of Texas Bowl by throwing for 1,682 yards and 13 touchdowns, completing 57 percent of his passes …threw for a season-best 263 yards and two touchdowns against Itawamba CC … completed 14 of 20 passes for 177 yards, one touchdown and one interception in his redshirt freshman season at Memphis.

High School: A two-year team captain at Katy Taylor High School, throwing for 3,302 yards and 23 touchdowns … played for his father Brett at Taylor .. also lettered in baseball for coach Flint Risien, and won a district championship in the 400 meter dash.

Personal: Born Nov. 24, 1995 … son of Lesley and Brett Holgorsen … nephew of current West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen … graduated from high school and junior college with a 3.0 GPA … majoring in business administration and plans to start a restaurant … life’s ambition is to “own some businesses and come back to coaching and own a restaurant.”
