Nicknamed "Big Hurt" Davis developed into a major force upfront for the Purple Swarm defense in the stretch run of the 2004 season. A smart and athletic down lineman, "Hurt" is the starting nose tackle and has all-star potential.

2004: Made 23 tackles in 11 games, including three tackles for loss and a sack, while intercepting a pass and returning it 10 yards...Three tackles vs Oklahoma Panhandle...Four hits,one and a half tackles for loss in season-shifting 44-7 rout of Texas State on Nov. 6 while stepping in for injured All-American starter Quintene Newhouse...Five tackles, one QB hurry in 45-27 win over No. 3 Sam Houston State a week later...Two tackles, one for loss at Montana in playoff loss.

Before NSU: Spent 2-plus years at Baylor, playing his freshman and sophomore seasons...Made 15 tackles in six games in 2003, adding a sack for a 10-yard loss and 2 QB hurries...As a redshirt freshman in 2002, he played in three games, seeing action against Samford, Colorado and Oklahoma State...Recorded three tackles (two solo)...Credited with two stops against Samford and a solo tackle at Colorado.

High school: Twice named first-team All-Central Louisiana and all-district, honorable mention All-State as a senior...85 solo tackles and eight sacks as a senior...Finished his career with four fumbles caused and six fumble recoveries...Coached by Emile Celestine...Team went 7-3 and shared district title in his junior year...Didn't play football until his junior season...Also played baseball and golf.
