Northwestern State University of Louisana

Emerged last year after All-American Quintene Newhouse was injured against North Dakota State. Filled in for Newhouse in the starting lineup and played extensively as the Demons were dominant in their November run to the SLC title. Brown is a play-making tackle whose run-stopping ability features surprising range for a player with his stocky build. He is a powerful inside pass rusher. Opens preseason as the No. 2 nose tackle behind Lorenzo Davis, but could also play in the other tackle slot when Troy Collins shifts outside to end.

2003: Had 35 hits (15 solo) including 3 tackles for lost yards...Had season-best 4 hits vs Delaware State, Louisiana-Monroe, Oklahoma Panhandle State and Sam Houston State.

2002: Got in on 12 tackles in nine games as a situational player on a senior-laden defensive front...Helped fill void when standout Chris Jones was lost due to injury at outset of November...Had a sack against Southwestern Oklahoma...Season-best 4 tackles against McNeese State.

2001: Did not play.

High school: Lettered in football, power lifting and track at Natchitoches Central...Helped team to 18 wins his sophomore through senior season and into the playoffs his sophomore through junior season.
