2012 Season: Came in as backup quarterback in six games… was 2-5 for 16 yards against Central Arkansas, and also ran for 16 yards on three attempts… completed his only pass for five yards against Stephen F. Austin.
 
2011 Season: Saw action in five games... ran the ball twice for five yards and was 1of 4 passing for 11 yards against Southeastern Louisiana... 2-2 passing and ran for two yards against SFA.
 
2010 Season:  Redshirted.
 
High School:  Two-year first-team all-district, district MVP as a senior .... Led team to consecutive district titles, 20-3 record (two 10-win seasons) ... produced 64 touchdowns, 948 rushing yards, and 3,293 passing yards  in two seasons ... 135 carries, 601 yards, 20 TD rushing as a senior ... 1,896 yards passing, 19 TD, only four interceptions in 235 attempts (142 completions) ... ran for eight TDs, 347 yards on 74 carries as a junior, with 1,397 passing yards (83-142, four interceptions) and 17 TDs  ... three football letters, one in basketball, one in golf ... National Honor Society student with 3.5 GPA ... on High Honors list ... Play It Smart community service organization.
 
Personal: Born Nov. 24, 1991... son of Don Canyon Jr. and Demonica S. Canyon... father is an inspector for the city of Dallas... one sister, Danielle Williams (21)... nickname is “The Man with the Plan”... interested in becoming an elementary math teacher.
