2011 Season: Appeared in 51 games for the Lady Demons, 46 of them as a starter….had a terrific start to the season as she went 2-for-2 with 3 RBI in the Feb. 13 win over Centenary, 13-2, in the Sleep Inn Classic softball tournament at the University of North Texas…..In the game, Tiffany notched an RBI double in a two-run fifth inning, then plated two runs with a triple in the five-run sixth….Ward shined again on April 30 with 2-for-3 performance vs. Nicholls to help NSU capture its first 30-win season in five years.
2010 Season: Against Nicholls State, went 3 for 3 and slugged her third home run of the season, driving in a career-high four runs in the game….tallied a 2 for 3 performance against Centenary and a 2 for 2, two RBI effort at Southern….finished season with .241 batting average, .354 on-base percentage and .370 slugging percentage, among the team's best….recorded 157 putouts and a .983 fielding percentage while working out of the hot corner.
2009 Season: In her second career game, went 2 for 3 with run and RBI against Alabama... 2 for 3 against McNeese with run Feb. 24... knocked in two runs twice, against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Troy... finished freshman campaign with a six-game hitting streak, inlcuding a 2 for 3 showing against Centenary, driving in a run.
At Smithson HS: Three-year all-district third baseman for nationally-ranked Texas state power that had a 110-8 record in her four seasons … she hit .394 with 4 HR (one grand slam) and was team captain for coach Wayne Daigle in her senior year … she batted .450 as a junior, .385 with 40 RBI as a sophomore, and .375 as a freshman … as a senior, her team was ranked No. 1 in Texas, as high as 13th nationally, and went 26-2, falling in the regional finals … in her junior year, the team was 29-3, ranked 4th in the state, 11th nationally and reached the regional quarterfinals … her sophomore season, the team reached the state semifinals, going 29-2 with a No. 9 national ranking and a No. 2 state ranking … in her freshman year, team went 26-1, was ranked third in the state and was a regional finalist … Academic All-District all four years and graduated with a 3.6 GPA, in the top 10 percent of her class … Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society.
Personal File: Born Tiffany Nicole Ward on March 28, 1990 … daughter of West and Tammy Ward … oldest of three children, siblings are Whitney (18) and West (17) … sister is a freshman at Texas A&M, majoring in biomedical science… majoring in Pre-Physical Therapy with a 3.37 G.P.A….while attending NSU, Tiffany has made the Dean’s List and Honor Roll….plans to complete medical school and have her own successful physical therapy practice.
