2011 Season: The lone Lady Demon to be selected to the 2011 All-Southland Conference Preseason team….Missed the first 17 games of the season with a concussion, only to return to the lineup in early March to go 2-for-4 with an RBI single against Texas-San Antonio…. went 2-for-3 with an RBI to help lead Northwestern State over Central Arkansas, 3-2…. Roberts shined with the game-tying RBI single as NSU took a 5-2 win over Nicholls State ….her lone two-out, sixth-inning home run in the season finale vs. Texas State gave NSU the lift needed to earn its first postseason appearance in five years...collected a total .261 BA in 40 games and 115 at-bats....had eight multi-hit games including a perfect 3-for-3 outing against Texas-Arlington.
2010 Season: Roberts continued her dominance at the plate, finishing her sophomore campaign leading the team in numerous batting categories, including average (.333), home runs (5), RBI (35), slugging (.496), total bases (70) and a 10 game hitting streak…. knocked in a career-high five runs with a 2-for-3 performance at McNeese and recorded 10 multi-RBI games….opened the season with at least one hit in each of the first 10 games, which extended her career-long streak to 15 games, dating back to the previous season…committed just one error in the field with 145 putouts…selected to the All-SLC third-team and All-Louisiana collegiate softball first team.
2009 Season: In a two-game series at Grambling, went 5 for 7 with four RBI and two doubles, while also scoring three runs... knocked in two RBI in six different contests... hit home runs against Stephen F. Austin in a 2 for 3 performance and UTSA while driving in two runs... Led the Lady Demons in home runs (2), RBIs (21), slugging percentage (.351), on-base percentage (.325), doubles (11) and total bases (46).
At Ruston HS: All-State Class 5A twice, as a sophomore at Natchitoches Central and as a senior at Ruston .. a four-year first-team All-District 2-5A selection … in her only season at Ruston, she made the coaches' association state all-star games roster while earning All-Area from the Shreveport Times and making first-team All-District and All-State … as a junior at NCHS, she was honorable mention All-State, made the All-Area Team, the All-Cenla team chosen by the Alexandria Town Talk … she was All-Cenla as a sophomore when the Lady Chiefs reached the state quarterfinals … as a senior, she helped Ruston reach the state quarterfinals … played for her parents … posted a 3.75 grade point average.
Personal File: Born Samantha Danielle Roberts on April 16, 1990 … daughter of Danny and Lynne Roberts, both teachers and coaches … mother is former Lady Demon softball player....two younger siblings, Kristin (18) and Jamie (13) … Health & Exercise Science major with a 3.5 grade point average....made the Dean’s List every year for the past three years.... All-SLC Academic All-Conference … hopes to obtain her personal training certification and attend graduate school after graduating in December 2012 ....her life’s ambition is to be all that she can be.
