Biography

2011 Season:  Appeared in five games for the Lady Demons’ pitching staff….made her first collegiate start against SWAC opponent, Grambling State, where she appeared for three innings with two strikeouts and five hits….picked up her first and lone win of the season against Centenary, throwing in two innings with two hits and two strikeouts while giving up only one earned run….hurled a 4.59 earned run average within 10.2 innings pitched over the season. 

At Lake Washington HS: Aasness led her high school softball team to the state tournament while becoming the King County 4A home run champion during her junior season…voted the Most Inspirational player in softball and basketball…received the coach's Most Valuable Player as a senior…served as team captain during her last two years of high school … pitched for the Northwest Lady Sharks travel, playing in four ASA National Championship tournaments and helping her team to a top 25 finish at the 16-U tournament….Sara was also a standout in basketball …graduated May 2010 as a honor student with a 3.8 grade point average.

Personal: Born April 23, 1992…nicknamed “Oz”…daughter of Lance and Cheryl Aasness and has one brother, Chris (23)…father is a former three sport athlete and now owns a manufacturing business…mother ran track and currently works as an accountant….brother received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and now works in the family-owned business, Hinds-Rock…majoring in communications with a perfect 4.0 grade point average and made the Dean’s List….aspires to work with people while guiding the careers of young interns after graduating in 2014…her life's ambition is “to have a career that impacts others’ lives in a positive way.”
