High School: Lettered all four years in football and three years in baseball … contributed to two state championships and a state runner-up title with a 15-0 record as a freshman and two state titles in baseball … football team had a 49-6 record during his time at Parkview Baptist ... as a sophomore, Paxton was named second-team all-district as a linebacker in football and a catcher in baseball ... as a junior, named to first-team all-district in both positions and earned all-district, All-Metro Defensive MVP, all-state linebacker and the state championship game MVP… finished his high school career with consecutive first-team all-district and all-state linebacker honors, along with an all-metro cornerback award … participated in the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council, FCA and Leadership Scholarship … was a Bob Anderson Scholarship Nominee … graduated with a 3.7 GPA.
Personal: Born Paxton Samuel Cook on Jan. 28, 1993 … son of Jeff and Sherrie Cook … father is an LSU graduate, working in civil engineering and mother is an administrative assistant … has one sister, Katie … majoring in health and exercise science (3.8 GPA) … plans to pursue a career as a physical therapist in sports medicine after completing his studies … his life’s ambition is to “become a physical therapist and be a good father.”
