Summary

Biography

2016 Season: Started final three games, shining at Abilene Christian in his first sustained action of the season, and earning praise from Sam Houston State coach K.C. Keeler for his tenacity and performance in his second start … had miserable beginning to the season, contracting an extensive case of poison ivy after working in his grandmother’s garden on the day before reporting to camp, something he’d done numerous times without incident, but the major outbreak kept him out of all of the preseason practices, relegating him to third-team status … completed 54.5 percent of his passes for 442 yards and 2 TDs, a 36-yarder to De’Mard Llorens at ACU and a 79-yarder to Bobby Chan-Chan vs. SHSU … went 22-33 for 225 yards vs. the Wildcats, leading NSU to scores on his first two drives, and the Demons to 275 yards in the first half of a 25-22 loss … while going 17 of 35 for 195 yards, took a beating vs. the Bearkats, and as a result wasn’t sharp in season finale at Stephen F. Austin … led two straight first-quarter scoring drives to give NSU a lead vs. SHSU, the first time all season the Bearkats trailed.

2015 Season: Battled for the starting quarterback position, making three starts … threw for 528 yards (second-best on team) on 40-of-69 passing (58 percent) … tossed three touchdowns and three interceptions … best game came against Central Arkansas (9/26) in a start, threw for career-high 275 yards on 19-of-33 with two touchdowns … started at Incarnate Word (14-23, 159 yards) and Miss. State (2-3 28 yards, 20 rushing yards) … saw action against UL Lafayette (5-10, 66, TD).

2014 Season: Squadsman.

2013 Season: Redshirted.

High School: Standout quarterback for coach Rodney Guin at Haughton, was the first verbal commitment to NSU in the summer of 2013 and held firm on his pledge after a coaching change … threw for 2,047 yards and 23 touchdowns, completing 64 percent of his passes, and ran for an additional 279 yards and five touchdowns … led Bucs to a 7-4 record and first round of Class 5A playoffs … as a junior, threw for 2,475 yards and 32 TDs, completing 58 percent of his passes and ran for 277 yards and two more scores while Haughton went 9-3 and reached the second round of the playoffs, falling to eventual state champion West Monroe … second-team all-district pick as a senior, honorable mention all-district as a junior … set school record for career passing percentage and finished his career second in Bossier Parish history … Wendy’s High School Heisman winner in 2012 for combined academic, athletic accomplishment … National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Award from North Louisiana Milton McNaughton Chapter … 3.8 GPA.

Personal: Son of Brian and Brandi St. Andre, who are teachers … father is a coach … has one brother, Jake (13) … grandfather, Mike Almond, chosen as one of the Demons’ Top 100 Players of the Century in the 2007 Centennial Celebration of NSU football … grandfather still ranks among NSU receiving leaders and set single-game record with 10 catches at Louisville … was the 1979 “Mr. Irrelevant” as the final player chosen in the NFL Draft, by the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers … his uncle, Dustin Almond, was a star QB at Southern Mississippi, where he topped some of Brett Favre’s records, later played in the Cleveland Browns NFL training camp and has been involved in arena football … majoring in psychology/addiction studies and wants to coach at the collegiate level.
