Curtis … led the state in kicker scoring as a junior … regional qualifier in the pole vault as a sophomore and junior … all-district center fielder in baseball as a sophomore … Winnfield’s special teams MVP for three seasons … started all 52 career games, scoring in all but three.
 
Personal: Son of Dr. Mark Shelton, a physician, and Jennifer Shelton a medical technologist … has two older brothers, Matthew (30) and Andrew (25), both former kickers for the Tigers … Andrew played baseball at Louisiana College, now is an assistant coach there … one sister Dorothy Ann Davis (26) … grandfather Lee Shelton graduated from Louisiana Normal (former name of NSU) in the class of 1941 … born Nov. 4, 1994 … biology major plans to pursue professional school in healthcare … full name is John Maxwell Shelton.
