2013 Season: Indoor- Competed primarily in the long jump and triple jump…finished ninth in the long jump at the McNeese Indoor with a season-best leap of 18-02.50…registered a season-best triple jump mark of 38-07.50 at the Howie Ryan Invitational, placing fifth…finished ninth in the triple jump (37-10.50) and 12
th in the long jump (17-09.00) and high jump (5-03.00) at the SLC Championships.
2012 Season: Outdoor- Competed in the long jump and triple jump…recorded a personal-best leap of 18-08.25 in the long jump at the Bobby Lane Invitational, placing sixth…finished 18
th at the SLC Championships in the long jump with a jump of 18-07.00…placed seventh in the triple jump at the SLC Championships with a personal-record mark of 39-08.00…recorded seven top-10 finishes in the triple jump and four in the long jump.
Indoor- Finished 12
th in the long jump (17-08.75) and 10
th in the triple jump (38-00.25) at the SLC Championships…placed eighth in the triple jump at the Vulcan Invite with a leap of 38-11.00.
2011 Season: Outdoor- Competed in the long jump and triple jump… also competed in one race all season at the Cowboy Relays running the 100m with a 13.17 mark… competed in the SLC Championships in both jumps finishing the long jump with a 18-05.00 mark and the triple jump with a 37-03.75 mark… best jump in the long jump was 18-06.00 at the LSU Relays to take ninth place… best mark in the triple jump was 38-00.75 at the Cowboy Relays.
Indoor - Had two top five finishes in the long jump with a best leap of 17-04.75 at the Houston Invitational…in the triple jump, recorded her best outing of the indoor season at McNeese where she came in third with a mark of 35- 07.75.
2010 Season: Took the high jump title at the Ty Terrell Relays with a mark of 5-05.25 along with a fourth-place finish in the long jump…at the NSU Invitational, Jones, along with Amanda Freeman, October Wells and Jazmin Williams, placed fourth in the 4x100 relay…she had her best performance in the triple jump at the UTA Bobby Lane meet where she posted 37-01.75 for 10th place.
High School: Jones was a four-year track letter winner in high school, while lettering twice in basketball and once in volleyball… in her sophomore campaign, Jones was part of a 4x100m relay team that placed third district and competed at regionals… in the same year, was part of the 4x200m relay team that finished second in district and also competed at regionals… In her senior season, she won the district long jump, setting a personal best 18’ 2” jump… Was active in Young Ladies with Positive Attitudes (YLPA) in high school.
Personal: Daughter of Dorothy and Hayward Cartwright…born Nov. 17, 1990 Jones…has one brother, Harry Jones… majoring in child development with a minor in psychology and expects to graduate in the spring of 2013.
