2018 Outdoor Season: Ran in individual events of 100 and 200 meters…also a member of 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams during the year…competed in 100 meter dash three times with best finish coming at LSU Alumni Gold (10.86)…best time came at UTA Bobby Lane Invitational at 10.72 where he finished 15th overall…ran 200 meters twice with best finish and time coming at the LSU Alumni Gold meet, taking seventh overall at 21.91…member of 4x100 relay team that took second at TCU Invitational (39.57) and seventh at Texas Relays (40.15)…only finish in 4x200 relay came at MSU Cowboy Relays/Bob Hayes La. Challenge, earning sixth overall with a time of 1:30.51
2018 Indoor Season: Competed in individual distances of 60 and 200 meters in three meets earning top-10 finishes in each race…best finish in the shorter 60 meter dash came in the TAMU Ted Nelson Invitational where he finished fifth in the finals with a time of 6.87…best time came in the SLC Championships (6.84), but finished ninth overall…took second in the 200 meters at the TAMU Ted Nelson Invitational (21.37), his season best…took a fifth place finish at the Pittsburg State Invitational (6.84) and sixth in the SLC Championships (21.78)…ran the 4x400 meter relay in one meet along with Charlie Milton, Micah Larkins, and Amir James finishing 11th at the TAMU Ted Nelson Invitational (3:32.56).
Prior to NSU: In the 2017 outdoor season, qualified for the national quarterfinals in the 100 and 200 and ran on the 4x100 relay team at the NCAA West Regional (May 25-27)...broke the school 200-meter record with a time of 20.59 seconds at the West Regional and ran a leg that set school-record 4x100 time of 39.82 seconds at that meet...third all-time in Little Rock program history in the 100 with a time of 10.25 seconds at the NCAA West Regional...competed in the 100, 200, and 400 dash in the 2017 outdoor season and had 14 top-five performances...in the 100, finished second in the Rhodes Invitational (10.43) and in the Little Rock Open (10.36)...finished third in the Sunbelt Outdoor Track and Field Championships (10.29)...in the 200, finished first in the Central Arkansas Spring Opener (21.53)...finished second in the Little Rock Open (20.72)...finished third in the Sun Belt Outdoor Track and Field Champions (20.79) and the Rhodes Invitational (21.08)...competed in the 400 in one meet...also competed in the 4x1 and 4x4 relays and had eight top-five finishes...in the 4x1, was part of a team that won the Little Rock Open (40.62), Bobby Lane Invitational (40.70), Memphis Invitational (41.16), and the Rhodes Invitational (40.49)...finished second in the Sun Belt Outdoor Track and Field Championships (40.07)...in the 4x4, was part of a team that finished fourth in the Memphis Invitational (3:16.85)...member of a team that finished fifth in the SBC Track and Field Championships (3:13.24)...in the 2017 Indoor Season, placed second in the 200 (21.61) and fifth in the 55 (6.42) at the ASU Kickoff Klassic (Dec. 2)...came in second in the 200 (21.93) and fifth in the 400 (49.47) at the Arizona State University Kickoff Klassic...placed third in the 200 (21.59) and fifth in the 60 (6.82) at the University of South Alabama Invitational...part of the 4x400 team at that meet that took fourth place at the Sun Belt Indoor Track & Field Championships with a time of 3:16.87... ran track and field for Arkansas Baptist College from 2013-15 before joining the Trojans...on the track, ran a 21-second 200-meter dash and a 10.4-second 100-meter dash as personal records...made the Dean's List for two consecutive years.
High School: Attended Garland High School...played football and track...member of the football team that won the district title for two consecutive years...played wide receiver, cornerback, and safety for Garland high...was second team All-district and defensive sophomore of the year as a sophomore for football...second team All-district as a junior…won the 200 back to back district 5a...qualified for the state championships and finished sixth in his senior year.
Personal: Son of Marcus and Lawinda...brother of Dominique, Jamarcus, Markaden, Marquetta, Charity, Laticia, Marcandria, Markayla...majoring in general studies/criminal justice...plans to become a professional athlete for the USA Track and Field team...after finishing up his professional career, wants to be a correctional youth counselor or work in the detention center and work with kids and teenagers to get them off the street and involved in activities outside of school.
