2018 Outdoor Season: Javelin thrower who made his debut at ULM Warhawk Classic and placed eighth (157-8)…had a total of two top-10 performances in three meets…finished second at Leon Johnson NSU Invitational (169-11)…threw a personal record of 175-6 at the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships and placed 12^th (175-6).
 
High School: Graduated with a 3.3 GPA…lettered in football, baseball, track and wrestling…as a football player, advanced to the playoffs from sophomore to senior year…played baseball as a junior and senior, but torn his UCL senior year…wrestled for a year…track district champion all four years of high school as a team…track district regional champion sophomore, junior and senior year as member of the team…FCA athlete of the year…northwest Louisiana FCA athlete of the year…member of FCA, Chess Club, board game club, and student council…threw the javelin all four years of high school…137-11 as a freshman, 155-7 as a sophomore, 175 as a junior, and 185 as a senior…all-district and all-state as an individual in junior year.
 
Personal: Son of Steven and Rachael Shankle…born December 14^th, 1998…has two brothers, Holdon and Brodie…majoring in secondary education…plans to be a coach at the high school level and work under his dad with his company…life’s ambition is to get married, have three kids, move to a farm and have a happy family.
