2018 Outdoor Season: Competed in long jump at six meets during the season with five top-10 finishes…jumped a distance of 23-1 ¼ in back-to-back meets taking fifth at MSU Cowboy Relays/Bob Hayes La. Challenge and fourth at TCU Invitational respectively…longest jump of the year came at the McNeese Last Chance meet, a wind aided 23-4 (+2.3)…took eighth at SFA Skecher’s Performance Carl Kight Invitational (22-4 ¾) and ninth at Texas State Bobcat Invitational (22-11 ¾)
 
2018 Indoor Season: Competed in two meets in the long jump…posted a mark of 21-8 ¾ , his season best, at the TAMU Ted Nelson Invitational, taking a 15^th overall finish…posted a jump of 20-3 ¾ at the LSU Bayou Bengal
 
2017 Outdoor Season: Participated in four meets...best result was finishing sixth in the SLC Outdoor Championships (23-0).
 
2017 Indoor Season: Competed in the long jump in four meets...finished 12th in the SLC Indoor Championships (22-1 ¾).
 
2016 Outdoor Season: Participated in six meets, with four top-12 marks … qualified for the SLC Outdoor Championships where he finished 17^th (21-11 ½).
 
2016 Indoor Season: Long jumper who participated in four meets … best finish came in the SLC Indoor Championships where he took seventh (21-5 ¼).
 
2015 Outdoor Season: Competed in the long jump at eight meets… had three top-10 performances… best mark was 22-9 ¾ at the Leon Johnson Invitational.
 
2015 Indoor Season: Competed in the long jump at three meets… had a best performance of 21-9 ½ at UH Howie Ryan Invitational.
 
High School:  Graduated from Cedar Park High School with a 3.6 GPA… played football for two years and track for three years... was part of the state football championship team his sophomore year, district champ his junior year and the football team had a 14-2 record…district champs his senior year… as a junior placed 7^th at state in long jump and placed third as a senior… was the track team MVP as a senior.
 
Personal:  David is the son of Lori and Russell Mortiz …father works as a computer software engineer at PayPal...mother works as a project manager at IBM... has an older sister Amanda... majoring in business administration…plans to make a lot of money as soon as possible…life’s ambition is to save dogs.
