2016 SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE COMMISSIONER’S Fall Honor Roll
2016 Season: Collected 33 tackles while in deep rotation at linebacker … started eight games … five stops vs. Incarnate Word … recovered a fumble, had a tackle for loss, and a pass breakup, along with four tackles at Southeastern … season-high seven stops at McNeese, including a tackle for loss.
2016 Spring: Made four tackles with one-half tackle for loss in Delaney Bowl.
Before NSU: Was Northeastern Oklahoma A&M’s third-leading tackler as a sophomore, posting 62 tackles in nine games … honorable mention on the All-Southwest Junior College Football Conference team … three games of double-digit tackles – 16 vs. Tyler, 15 vs. Blinn and 13 vs. Kilgore … intercepted a pass against Trinity Valley … was a team captain as a sophomore … had a 3.8 GPA and was on the president’s honor roll … was at Navarro as a freshman.
High School: First-team all-district performer at Waco Midway HS … helped high school team to a state championship game as a junior, and third and fourth rounds as a sophomore and senior, respectively … as a junior, was district newcomer of the year in football and basketball … academic all-conference for three seasons … lettered in football, basketball and track and field for three years.
Personal: Son of Remethia Buhl … mom is a restaurant manager at Wise Guys Chicago Eatery … one sister Utahna Garrett (19) and one brother Kenneth Garrett (16) … psychology major who plans to be a psychologist or a football coach
