2014 Southland Conference Commissioner’s Fall Honor Roll
2016 Season: Made his first collegiate catch in Week 3 and stacked up 24 total, several spectacular leaping or diving snags, in a breakout season … finished third on the team with 24 catches and 338 yards … had a tremendous day in the season finale with career-best 132 yards on seven catches, including a 65-yard TD, at Stephen F. Austin … two catches for 42 yards at UCA, one sensational leaping stab on the NSU sideline that was his first collegiate reception … first career TD came in win over Kentucky Wesleyan, a 6-yard pass for a 21-0 lead … had 49 yards on five receptions in that game … also five catches, for 40 yards, vs. No. 1-ranked Sam Houston State.
2015 Season: Appeared in all 11 games as a sophomore … did not record a catch.
2014 Season: Appeared in 10 games ... did not record a catch.
High School: All-district receiver and kick returner … finalist for the prestigious Warrick Dunn Award in the NFL great’s hometown … All-Baton Rouge Metro kick returner … a two-year all-district basketball standout … helped football team into the playoffs as a senior under coach Brett Beard … was part of three straight basketball playoff teams for coach Elmo Fernandez … Student Government Association vice president … Boys State participant … National Honor Society member … Beta Club member … 4.1 GPA (5.0 scale).
Personal: Son of Kerry and Julie Lazare … father is retired from UPS, mother works for Methods Technology Solutions …two brothers, Darnell (31) and Braylon (26), and a sister, Kerrilyn (26) … Darnell was part of LSU basketball’s last Final Four team (2005) and had a long basketball career overseas and in the NBDL that included a 10-day contract with the Indiana Pacers … Darnell is now an assistant coach with the NBDL’s Iowa Energy … Braylon played basketball at UL-Lafayette … nickname is “Cam” … majoring in NSU’s nationally acclaimed computer science program … will enter the technology field … wants to play in the NFL and own a computer consulting firm … full name is Cameron Deville Lazare.
