2016 Southland Conference Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll

2016 Outdoor Season:
Competed in the 800, 4x800 relay and 1600 sprint medley in five meets … combined with Grant Butts, Jacob Dahlhoff and Josh Wilkins to finish second (8:03.77) in the 4x800 at the McNeese Cowboy Relays … teamed with Micah Larkins, Travis Allen, and George Flaviano for a fifth-place finish in the 1600 sprint medley in the same event.
 
2016 Indoor Season: Competed in the 800 and the distance medley in two meets … had two top-10 finishes in the 800 with his best mark (2:03.80) coming in an eighth-place effort at the LSU Bayou Bengal … combined with Jacob Dahlhoff, Anson Ballow, and Grant Butts to win the distance medley at the Cameron Communication McNeese Invite (11:10.21). 

High School: Graduated San Antonio Christian School with a 3.34 GPA… was a weatherman with Broadcast Journalism… was a Student Ambassador on the Mayor’s Fitness Council… was a member of the Thespian Society and National Honor Society… lettered four years in cross country and track and field… sophomore cross country team was 2nd at TAPPS 4A Boys State and was champions senior year… as a freshman, was first leg of 4x800 relay team that placed 2nd at the AAU Junior Olympic Games for Intermediate Boys… set school record for the 800 meter as a junior besting NSU coach Wesley Miller’s previous record… was named to the San Antonio Express News All-Area Track and Field Team for sub6A and private schools and won TAPPS 4A State title in the 800 meter as a senior… was a six-time state qualifier in the 400m, 800m, and the 4x400 relay… was named all-district, all-regional, and all-state… high school coach was Kenzer Dirkson and San Antonio Heat distance coach was Frank Dunn.
 
Personal: Son of Jacqueline and Anthony Renteria… born June 5, 1997… has one older sister, Jessica, who is a member of the USA Senior Team for Acrobatic Gymnastics… majoring in theatre… plans to go into acting and become a voice over actor.
