High School: First team all-district, all-parish, all-Southwest Louisiana, and honorable mention all-state as a senior in helping his Jennings team to a 10-3 record and third round of the state playoffs… ran for 1,602 yards on 239 carries… averaged 6.7 yards per carry and 124 yards and 2 touchdowns per game… also had 2 interceptions while playing free safety… named MVP of the 60th annual Kiwanis Jamboree… as a junior, recorded 95 tackles, 65 solo, had 2 sacks and 5 pass breakups… first team all-district… team finished 8-3 and advanced to the state playoffs… also played wide receiver as a junior… made 73 tackles with two pass interceptions as a sophomore as team finished 8-4 and advanced to the second round of the state playoffs… played for Rusty Phelps… also lettered in baseball… had a 3.1 grade point average.
         
Personal: Son of Clinton and Tina LaVergne… one brother, Jeremy (25)… plans to major in physical therapy at NSU… nickname is “D-Vergne”… would like to be the athletic trainer at Jennings High School… born Oct. 29, 1993.
