Terry ranks eighth in school history with 66 blocked shots and is 11th all-time with 89 steals. If he duplicates last year's totals of 36 blocked shots and 40 steals, he will reach fourth all-time in both categories. He holds the single-game blocked shots record with seven at Southeastern Louisiana last year. He needs 107 points to become the 20th Demon to score 1,000 in a career. If he can equal last year's scoring output, he could finish 12th all-time. He is 39 3-pointers away from setting the Demon career mark. Terry has only 4.4% body fat and a 41-inch vertical jump.
In 1992-93: He led the team in minutes played (30.5 pg), blocked shots (36), dunks (25) and 3-point baskets made (58). His 439 points was the 19th-best single-season output in Demon history. he hit 79.8% of his FTs, second on the team. He ranked eighth in the SLC in scoring, seventh in FT aim, and third in blocked shots pg (1.3). Terry set a school record with seven blocked shots at Southeastern Louisiana on 1/26/93. He sank 92.9% (13-14) of his FTs in the last 3 minutes and OT.
His 38-point outburst vs. Arkansas Baptist on 12/4/92 was the fifth-best single-game scoring total in Demon history, and the most by a Demon in 15 years. He hit 16 of 23 shots from the floor and had 7 assists. Terry scored 27 at LSU, hitting 9 of 14 shots and 4 of 8 three-pointers, and had 7 rebounds. He led the Demons in scoring six times and in rebounding three times. He scored in double figures in all but four games, getting 20 or more points eight times. He recorded his sixth double-double against Centenary with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
In 1991-92: Terry emerged as a major force at small forward, being one of only two players (along with senior Roman Banks) to start every game. He led the Demons in rebounding and had team game highs 13 times. Fourth on the team in scoring, Terry was third on the team in 3-point aim (43.3%) and 2-point baskets (39). His assist-turnover ratio (55 to 38) was second to Roman Banks'. Terry had five double-doubles. In the last six games, he averaged 15.3 ppg on 67% FGs and 45% 3s, and averaged 7.2 rebounds.
In the homecourt loss to UTSA, he had 17 points and 10 rebounds despite fouling out after 23 minutes. Against NCAA-bound Northeast La., he had 16 points on the road and 19 points and 10 rebounds in a homecourt win, hitting two 3s and contributing a steal and slam in a 16-6 run at the outset of the second half. He scored 22 and grabbed 10 shots at North Texas.
In 1990-91: Playing in every game, averaging 17.1 minutes per, Terry lined up at point and off guard and small forward. He scored a season-high 14 pints in a Jan 10 76-74 loss to Sam Houston, hitting a game-tying 3-pointer with 33 seconds left. Terry hit 5-13 (38.3%) of his 3s in SLC play.
At Ponchatoula HS: Listed by one recruiting service as the state's No. 3 prospect early in his senior year. Terry averaged 19 points and 12 rebounds per game. He was all-district and district MVP in his last two seasons. His team reached teh state playoffs in his junior year and went 39-19 in his last two seasons. Terry lettered three seasons in basketball and baseball and once in football. He was a Student Council member and a Regent Scholar.
Personal: Terry is the son of Larry and Lola Terry. He is majoring in political science and history. His nicknames are "Uncle L" and "Larry Love" and "Junebug." He is an officer (Polemarch) in Kappa Alpha Psi social fraternity. Ponchatoula HS officials presented him a plague for being a positive role model at the 1/27/93 Southeastern La. game near his hometown.
