2024 Season: Has emerged as Northwestern State's kickoff specialist ... recorded a tackle at No. 13 Southeast Missouri State on Sept. 28 ... has booted two touchbacks in seven kickoffs.
2023 Season: Missed the season with an injury.
2022 Season: Appeared in all 11 games ... had 11 punts of at least 50 yards, a career high, and dropped 10 inside the opponent's 20-yard line ... drilled a career-long 71-yard punt -- tied for the sixth-longest in school history ... averaged 47 yards on six punts, pinning three inside the 11-yard line, in an Oct. 1 win against Nicholls ... averaged 46.2 yards per kick on a season-high 10 punts at Southern Miss on Sept. 17.
2021 Fall: Appeared in all 11 games as a punter and three as a placekicker ... hit a 25-yard field goal and all three PAT tries at McNeese on Nov. 20 ... was perfect on four PAT tries at Southeastern on Nov. 13 ... hit a 24-yard field goal -- his first career make -- and an extra point while averaging 42.8 yards on six punts in a Nov. 6 win against Houston Baptist to earn Southland Conference and Louisiana Sports Writers Association Special Teams Player of the Week honors ... averaged 49.5 yards on six punts, unleashing a career-long 66-yard punt at Nicholls on Oct. 30 ... averaged 51.5 yards on four punts, dropping one at the Southeastern 4-yard line, on Oct. 23 ... placed four of his nine punts inside the 20 in an Oct. 9 win at Houston Baptist, including one at the 6-yard line ahead of the Huskies’ final drive ... dropped three of his four punts inside the 20 against UT Martin on Sept. 18 ... averaged 45 yards on four punts, dropping three inside the North Texas 20 on Sept. 4.
2021 Spring: Freshman All-America Team by HERO Sports ... third-team All-Southland Conference punter who averaged nearly 42 yards on 29 punts ... pinned 11 inside the 20 with eight 50-plus punts ... won SLC Special Teams Player of the Week in Week 6 in which he averaged more than 50 yards per punt vs. Sam Houston ... had a long of 56 yards this season vs. Sam Houston ... averaged more than 45 yards on two punts at SLU ... had one blocked vs. Lamar that dented average.
2019 Season: Appeared in four games before suffering a season-ending injury, allowing him to redshirt ...kicked off once at Houston Baptist on Sept. 21, making a tackle on the play ... hit a pair of extra points at No. LSU on Sept. 14 ... connected on the first two extra point tries of his career at UT Martin on Aug. 29.
High School: Two-year letterman for coach Mike Suggs’ Yellow Jackets ... named first-team all-district as a kicker and punter, first-team all-city (Shreveport Times) as kicker and first-team all-state kicker by the LSL and LFCA as a senior, hitting 6 of 7 field goals with a long of 44 and going 30 for 32 on extra points ... averaged 40.4 yards per punt in his senior year ... 44-yard field goal came at the final horn and lifted Byrd to a 17-14 win against nationally ranked Bishop Dunne of Dallas ... named first-team all-district and all-city as a kicker and second-team all-district as a punter in his junior year after going 3-for-5 on field goals, hitting all 30 extra points and averaging 40.1 yards per punt ... nominated for The Times’ Player of the Year award ... three-year soccer letterman for coach Gary McCormick ... three-time all-district goalkeeper earned the team’s Defensive MVP as a freshman ... has a 3.4 grade point average ... four-year member of the Key ClubÂ
