• Appeared in seven games in relief in his first season of college action.
• earned his first career victory with two scoreless innings of relief in Game 2 of a May 15 doubleheader at Stephen F. Austin.
• tossed two scoreless innings of relief in an April 3 win at Abilene Christian.
• worked two scoreless innings with a strikeout at Sam Houston on March 21.
• made his collegiate debut in the season opener at Southern Miss on Feb. 21, working 1 2-3 innings of hitless, scoreless relief with one strikeout.
2020 Season:
• Did not see action.
High School:
• Four-year letterman for coach Derek Watson’s Falcons.
• second-team all-district selection as a senior, pitching to a 3.10 ERA with 60 strikeouts in 48 1-3 innings.
• graduate with a 4.0 grade point average.
Personal:
• Born April 17, 2001.
• son of Leslie and Chad Berens, both of whom were college athletes.
• Leslie played volleyball and Kansas while Chad played baseball at Northwest Missouri State.
• has one brother, Pejah.
• majoring in biology and plans to become a nurse anesthetist.
