Helen's major contributing factor to the team is her "excellent shooting ability. In addition, her good had quickness gives us added depth at the forward position," said Pierson.  The 21-year-old forward from Lake Charles came off of knee surgery last year and "had a difficult season because of it. But she has worked on weights all summer to strengthen her knee and now her speed is as good as it ever was," said Pierson.

As a freshman, the 5'8" Lady Demon played in 26 games. In her sophomore year, she saw playing time in 16 games and averaged 1.2 ppg and 1.3 rebounds per game.

LeGrange High School made the Class AAAA playoffs two consecutive years with Helen's leadership. During her three year prep career she averaged 13.3 ppg and 11 rebounds per game. Awards of best defensive player as a senior and all-district player two years are added to her prep accomplishments.

Helen was a standout in softball as a prep and led her team to a state runner-up finish in her senior year. She is continuing her softball career at NSU where she plays third base for the Lady Demons.

This Lady Demon was a member of the National Honor Society with a 3.8 grade point average as a prep. Sociology is her major and she has future hopes to work in the field of corrections.
