Coach Pickett on Bruno:
“Everybody knows Cary. She's done some great things since she has been here at Northwestern. She's had a setback in the fall with her ACL tear. She found out in December she can run and she is pretty much ready to go. She is doing well in rehab and is trying to get back in March sometime. That's going to be huge for us because Cary is the leader of this team and we’re going to need that this year.”

2008 Season: Earned third team All-SLC honors after leading the team in hitting with a .302 average... played in all 55 games with 53 starts... ranked second on the team with 45 hits... belted one home run while knocking in 19... led the team and ranked fifth with 18 stolen bases... ended the season on a 5-game hitting streak and tied a season-high with three hits to close the season against Stephen F. Austin... knocked in four runs on 3 for 4 hitting with a home run against Sam Houston State.
2007 Season: Played in 29 games, starting 22... picked up nine hits on the season... at Tennessee-Martin, went two for three with a run scored and an RBI... scored six total runs in six games and had three RBI.
2006 Season: Played in 45 games, starting 33... picked up hits in nine games and scored runs in 10 games... went two for three against Stephen F. Austin with a run scored... went one for two against Jacksonville State with three RBI, a triple, and a run scored.
At Pearland High School: Lettered three years in softball and two years in track... as a senior, team made Bi-District playoffs, 9-2 district, and was 23-7 overall and eighth in the area... in her junior year, team made Bi-District playoffs and was 8-4 in district... in her sophomore year, team made Bi-District playoffs... she made second-team all-district and second-team in All-Brazona County in her junior year... in her senior year, her batting average was .350, her slugging percentage was .467, she stole 19 bases, she was first-team All-District East/West Texas All-Star game and was NFCA second-team All-Southwest Region of Texas.
Personal File: Born Cary Christine Bruno on June 2, 1987... daughter of Vince and Carol Bruno and has two siblings, Stephanie (28) and Casey (19)...majoring in Business Administration... plans to attend medical school after graduation from NSU... life ambition is to be successful and happy.
