Biography

2019 Season (Senior): Strong finish to her career included an SLC Pitcher of the Week honor in the final week of the regular season before she led NSU to a tournament win against McNeese … started season 3-7, but won three of her last four decisions to finish 6-8 with a 2.78 ERA … threw consecutive shutouts against Prairie View A&M and Central Arkansas, the latter of which moved her into sixth place all-time on NSU’s career wins list … finished with 47 career wins and a career record of 47-35 (.573), the winning percentage is NSU’s top 10 … pitched NSU to a 1-0 lead against SFA in the tournament before a delay as SFA won the next day to end NSU’s season … four shutouts on the season included UAPB (season-high eight strikeouts)  and Abilene Christian … finished with 12 career shutouts … held champion SHSU to one run in 5.1 innings in a 10-inning win … pitched 3.2 scoreless relief innings at No. 12 Arkansas.

2018 Season (Redshirt Junior): Posted a 10-9 record with a 3.37 ERA in 23 starts (31 appearances) … added two saves … struck out 65, walked 75 and hit 20 batters in 106 innings … held opponents to a .251 batting average … started the season 9-2 with a 2.62 ERA … her wins included SFA (twice), Memphis, McNeese and Abilene Christian … added wins against UAPB, Jackson State, Lamar and TAMUCC … struck out career-high 10 batters in win against Lamar as part of a series sweep ... allowed one run to McNeese (seven innings) and ACU (five innings) and two runs to Lamar (seven innings) in her best outings … saves came against Lamar and ACU (SLC Tournament) … ended the season on a 1-7 slide … allowed 75 runs (51 earned) on 98 hits.

2017 Season (Redshirt Sophomore): Ace pitcher who improved second half of season after missing almost all of 2016 with a torn ACL … recorded a 16-14 record with a 3.13 ERA (11th in SLC) in 38 appearances (28 starts) … 16 wins is tied for sixth in SLC … 12-7 record against conference opponents with a 2.39 ERA …  threw 16 complete games with five shutouts … struck out 124 (7th SLC) in 194 1/3 innings with 97 walks and 35 hit by pitches … allowed 111 runs, 87 earned … ranked fifth in opposing batting average in SLC  with .235 … two-hit SLC champion McNeese, carrying no-hitter 5 1/3 … won LSWA Louisiana Pitcher of the Week after her McNeese shutout … allowed two hits to Central Arkansas in shutout … also shut out Abilene Christian, Western Kentucky and Sam Houston … allowed just one hit in five-inning win vs. WKU, striking out eight … struck out career high nine vs. Evansville … finished season winning 12 of her last 17 starts after beginning the season 4-7 in decisions … recorded pair of wins against third-place Nicholls … also recorded wins against Maryland and Louisiana Tech … led SLC in free passes with 132 … allowed one earned run in 2 2/3 innings against WCWS participant LSU.

2016 Season (Sophomore): Tore ACL in second start of season against Texas State in the opening weekend … Received a medical redshirt … Won both her starts, compiling a 0.55 ERA in 12 2/3 innings … Allowed her lone run against DePaul in a complete game with four hits … Pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings against Texas State with just two hits allowed and five strikeouts … Had an 11-6 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

2015 Season (Freshman): Quickly became one of two main starting pitchers as a true freshman … Posted a team-low ERA of 1.56, which was the lowest in conference by more than half a run per game … That ERA is the 15th-best in the nation and third-best among freshman … Her 13-4 record was the best winning percentage (.764) in the conference … Appeared in 29 games with 14 starts … Struck out 64 batters in 98 2/3 innings with 38 walks and 11 hit-by-pitches … Pitched in seven complete games with three complete-game shutouts, including against Southeastern (allowed four hits) … Won five straight decisions from April 18-May 1 … Made two saves on the year … In 24 of her 29 appearances, Brown allowed one or fewer earned runs … Recorded wins over NCAA tournament teams Ball State and Central Arkansas.
